Liver disease And Its Symptoms |
The liver is very well connected to the other organs and systems in your body. This is the reason why it is very difficult to diagnose a disease that is connected to the liver. The only way to find out for certain that the disease is indeed related to the liver is by doing a very thorough examination. It is not uncommon for a person who is suffering from a liver disease to experience symptoms that is characteristic of another disorder relating another organ or system.
Liver disease is a condition that inflicts more people that we realise. If you suspect that you may have a liver disease symptom, it is important that you also review your other symptoms to help you determine whether it is necessary for appropriate action to be taken to protect your liver.
Another common cause of cirrhosis of the liver is hepatitis, which is caused by infection with either the C virus or the B virus.
Symptoms:
If you constantly have a bad appetite then you should consider having some medical test because this is one of the symptoms of liver disease. This will lead to decreasing of body weight and a not balanced metabolism that will lead to an unusual, unhealthy quantity of carbohydrates and fat in the blood. Another result of this symptom is anemia. This is the most severe consequence of a bad appetite. If a person developed anemia it is very possible that he will develop a disease in the liver cells (hepatocytes). Vomiting and nausea will appear, and in the vomit there are big chances that blood will be found. Ulcers have an increased risk rate if anemia is left untreated.
Liver disease may not show any symptoms at first, as symptoms can be vague. This includes weakness and loss of energy.
Other symptoms include jaundice that is a disease of the gall bladder. Jaundice is one of the main symptoms of liver disease. Jaundice can turn the skin color to yellow. Another symptom is related to digestion and appetite. Poor appetite is a very common symptom. It leads to loss of weight and anemia. Along with this vomiting, nausea or diarrhea can also manifest.
Another important symptom is light colored stool. Due to the lack of bile production, the stool will appear light and can be gray colored or pale.
Liver failure is the serious medical condition that does not develop overnight. It gradually develops number of years. Some of the symptoms of liver failure:
• Loss of craving
• Sickness or nausea
• Exhaustion
• Bulge in stomach
• Easy Blood Loss
• Jaundice
• Bewilderment
• Tiredness
• Unconsciousness Mind
Symptoms suggesting the need for liver testing
The symptoms of impending liver deterioration cross over into other medical problems as well making early and precise laboratory tests and narrative. The symptoms will likely include nausea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain and tenderness, vomiting, fever and jaundice. Further complicating the issue is that symptoms of cirrhosis are quite often almost identical to those of alcohol hepatitis.

Migraine And Its Symptoms |
A migraine is caused by the enlargement of the temporal arteries. These arteries run over the temples. When they start to swell, the nerves that wrap around them become irritated, causing the release of chemicals which causes further irritation to the blood vessels as well as inflammation and pain.
The most common migraine symptom and the most recognizable as well, is the headache. Although it is not present in the rarer forms of the disease, it is one evident sign of migraine. The headache that accompanies a migraine is not the kind that gives a dull ache. The pain felt by migraineurs is the intense, throbbing kind which sometimes necessitates complete rest and disrupts normal daily functions. However, a headache is not the only indicator that signals a migraine.
Common Signs of Incoming Pain
The most common signs pain is on the way are nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, fatigue, numbness in the limbs, tingling or weakness in hands, feet and legs and no appetite. These migraine symptoms may appear before, during or after the pain. Once a fell bout has begun, the symptoms may wane a bit, but will often last the duration of the headache which could be six hours or more. In some cases, a headache can last up to three days.
Without any warning, common migraine symptoms and signs may begin with:
• Headaches characterized by throbbing and pulsating pain starting on one side of the head and spreading to the eye, face and neck. It can switch sides but rarely does it happen to both sides at the same time. Worse are intense pains on the sides of the forehead which may be from dull to severe.
• Feeling a persistent throbbing or pounding deep inside your head.
Other Signs:
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Sensitivity with strong and painful reactions to light, loud noises or odors
• Cold hands and feet or feeling cold or sweating
• Fatigue or tiredness
• Loss of appetite
• Tender scalp
• Blurred vision, blind spots, light flashes or zigzag of lights
• Confusion
• Lightheadedness
• Nasal congestion
When suffering from a migraine do not be surprised if you are very sensitive to light. In fact, the light may intensify your pain and bring on even more symptoms. If you find this to be the case, stay away from light at all costs.
Some people try to forge ahead with their daily life even if they have a migraine. While this is often times possible, physical activity can make things worse at times. You never want to do anything that is going to take your migraine pain from manageable to out of control. If this means avoiding activity, so be it.
It is estimated that around 60% of female migraine sufferers suffer from an attack during their period and during the rest of the month. Only 14% suffer from an attack during their period. Of all female migraine sufferers, 74% associate their period with their headaches. Medical science does not deny the connection but the reason is still unknown.

Knee Pain And Its Treatment |
When it comes to treating knee pain there are many different options that are available. Knee pain treatment is crucial in helping millions of people either eliminate or cope with their knee problem. It is crucial to develop a program that targets the root of your knee. If you are not sure of the cause of your severe knee pain then you should consult a physician before finding your own treatments.
This is true for people who suffer from pain resulting in an injury or pain that is due to arthritis. Exercising can help increase the stabilization in the knee, which will usually result in less pain. Particularly strengthening the quadriceps is very important. By increasing the strength in your quads, you can work to reduce some of the strain that your knee experiences.
Symptoms:
1. They are unable to walk comfortably.
2. There is a noticeable deformity around the joint.
3. There is considerable knee pain even when at rest
4. There is pain for days on end.
5. Inability to bend the knee properly.
6. The calf itself is swollen and throbbing with pain.
Here are some common treatments for knee pain.
• Rest is one of the first treatment of many conditions that cause pain in the knee. It gives you a chance to rest the joint and swelling disappear. Many times we saw the rest is enough to relieve knee pain.
• Ice and heat applications are used very common to relieve pain in knee. Usually uses a bag of ice on the knee injury or after activities that chronic worry knee injury. The application of heat is applied before activities that irritate chronic injuries.
• The training is great for stretching muscles and tendons located around the knee joint. The training is highly recommended for chronic diseases. However, be sure to ask for help to perform the practice correctly. This will reduce the likelihood that causes damage and / or trauma to his knee.
Some treatment for pain in your knee usually revolves around icing therapy to help reduce the swelling. Ice is a good short term method to help reduce pain. It is meant to for instant pain relief and doesn't work for a long term success. If you do have a chronic pain in your knee, you should consult a doctor and see what the underlying cause to the problem is.
Knee pain therapy medications include:
• Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs are painkillers, such as Advil and Motrin. These medications can help alleviate some of the pain and inflammation caused by injury and osteoarthritis in the knee. Most NSAIDs can be bought over the counter, without a prescription. DO NOT use aspirin.
• Opioids. If the pain is unbearable, some doctors may prescribe opioids as part of a patient’s knee pain therapy. Opioids, otherwise known as narcotics, are usually offered for a brief period of time due to dependency issues and negative side effects. They are superior at masking the pain, but do not help reduce inflammation. Great care must be taken if opioids are prescribed for your knee pain therapy.

Dermatophytes And Its Effects |
Dermatophyte nail fungus is a term that refers to just one of the kinds of fungal nail infection (onychomycosis) that people commonly get. Specifically, it tells us that the fungus growing in the nail is a dermatophyte-a skin-loving species that derives its nutrients from keratin, a protein found in skin, hair, and nails. This is the most common type of onychomycosis-the kind that is passed from person to person and picked up in swimming pools, public showers, and shared socks and shoes.
Dermatophyte is a skin-loving fungus. Dermatophytes are fungi that are adapted to live in animal tissues that contain keratin-the protein found in skin, hair, nails, hooves, and horn. Keratin is a tough protective substance that gives these tissues their firm texture. Dermatophytes are capable of breaking down keratin to obtain nutrients.
A dermatophyte fungus that infects nails usually belongs to one of three groups or genera of fungi: trichophyton (the most common in most places), microsporum, and epidermophyton. Each of these groups contains a number of species, some of which cause infections in humans while some do not. Thus, scientific knowledge about these fungi is complicated and the medical professional seeing patients with possible fungal infections must know their dermatophyte facts.
If your dermatologist has diagnosed either type of nail fungus, he or she will prescribe one of many varieties of treatments available to combat the infection. In treatment of nail fungus, there are prescriptions such as gels, creams, and lotions that may be affective in treating mild cases of nail fungus. For particularly harsh cases, your dermatologist may prescribe oral medication to clear the problem. In extreme cases, the doctor may remove the nail, either the section that is infected or the entire nail to assist in treatment of the nail fungus.
Specifically, it's a fungus belonging to one of three fungal genera: Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. A number of species within each genera cause fungal nail and skin infections; however, not all species do so. To recap: while being uniquely capable of living on and breaking down the hair, skin, nails, hooves, and horns of living humans and animals, dermatophytes rarely invade other parts of the body except when there is a problem with the immune system.
Onychomycosis is very common-dermatophyte nail fungus is found all over the world, and it is typically seen more often in older people. Once it is well established in the nail, it's difficult to eradicate so any symptoms of this infection should be seen promptly by a medical professional. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the patient has a number of choices for treatment, raging from oral prescription drugs and topical treatments to natural alternatives.
How to cure nail fungus?
This disease is very hard to treat. This is because the infection usually sets deep within the nail. There are many available treatments for toenail fungus both conventional and alternative. Generally, alternative treatments are considered safer because they don't have any of the side effects that are common among conventional medicines. Before choosing any mode of treatment for toenail fungus, be sure to consult your doctor first.

Healthy Teeth And Its Care |
Your teeth are made up of three distinct layers, namely enamel, dentine and pulp. Some food particles get accumulated every time you munch on your favorite food. And if you do not clean them regularly, the food that is stuck is converted into lactic acid by the bacterial action. This acid dissolves enamel and dentine and produces a cavity. So to avoid dental problems, it is advisable for you to brush your teeth, twice a day.
Flossing always helps your teeth in the surfaces that tooth brushing cannot reach under the gum line and between the teeth. Brushing and flossing helps to remove plaque, a substance that adds slowly and hardens along the teeth over a period of time. If this is left without treating, then slowly deposits of plaque leads to tooth decay and gum disease.
Maintain healthy teeth:
Proper oral care is that way to maintain healthy teeth. Caring for your teeth is much easier than it sounds. Regular check ups with your dentist is very important as well. Brushing, flossing, and rinsing are important as well. What most people don't know is that a healthy diet is a major factor as well.
Choosing the proper diet to maintain great teeth can be a little troubling. Foods that are high in sugars and starches, soda pop are horrible for your teeth. Plaque builds up onto the teeth from these starches. When the plaque is then combine with the sugar it then attacks the enamel on your teeth. When the enamel is weakened it will then lead to tooth decay. It's not only crucial to keep your teeth plaque free, but taking care of your gums is important as well. Many of the food you consume everyday have came into contact with hundreds of germs and bacteria that can survive in your mouth.
Tips For healthy teeth:
Some of the ways to maintain healthy teeth are as follows; chewing some sugar free gum after a meal so as to increase saliva production and lower bacterial threat. Cheese is also used as it restores PH balance after a meal. Another thing is using a straw when taking a soft drink, this helps minimize the contact between your teeth and the liquid. Lastly, minimize drinking coffee and tea as they stain enamel.
Orange juice changes the PH level in the mouth leaving the teeth exposed to bacteria and so are other acidic fruit juices. This cause effects that ruins your healthy teeth.
Brushing three times a day can mean fewer dental appointments and painful (and expensive) dental procedures. Not to mention that you won't have to agonize over a tooth decay or swelling gums. If you happen to be a parent, you ought to be mindful about teaching your kids good dental care. From the early years, you should supervise your kids on their way to have healthy teeth. In can be fun introducing to your baby his or her new first toothbrush. Think about having a fancy character to it, maybe a Disney logo. This would make your baby attracted to the toothbrush.

Hangovers And Its Remedies |
Hangovers are an annoying problem from which no person who drinks alcoholic beverages is safe. No matter how big, how small, how old, or young, anyone can fall victim to the aftermath of a night out on the town. Throughout history, hangover remedies have existed in many forms. Some were successful while others just didn't make the grade.
The main causes of a hangover are drinking more alcohol than your body can metabolize efficiently causes the toxins in the alcohol to build up in your body. A chemical known as acetaldehyde is an alcohol by-product, and is responsible for the severe symptoms of a hangover. The ethanol found in alcohol has a dehydrating effect, which is responsible for your raging headache, dry mouth and tiredness.
Symptoms:
A hangover is what your body feels when you consume too much alcohol the night before. Heavy consumption of drugs or alcohol can deplete the body of much needed nutrients as well as dehydrate it to a critical level. These are some of the symptoms that come with a hangover are fatigue, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, headaches, hot flashes and of course dehydration
Therapies And Remedies:-
1. First and foremost, one should never drink on an empty stomach. It is ideal to drink after or with some filling food. That is why the concept of appetizers and starters has arisen. The food to be taken in accompaniment with alcohol must be ideally a fatty food. This will increase the vata and help the body to get prepared for the alcohol better.
2. Water is the best natural therapy that can be used to fight a hangover. Ideally, a person must drink as many glasses of water as they have had of the alcoholic drink. The water can be had early in the next morning to assuage the effects of the alcohol.
3. Citrus fruits are very beneficial in fighting hangovers. A glass of juice of a fresh orange or lemon, sweetened with sugar is good. Also, bananas are effective. Bananas contain fructose (a carbohydrate which helps the body to regain its lost energy) and potassium, which is one of the nutrients voided by the frequent urination that alcohol causes.
4. Caffeine and chocolate have positive effects on a hangover. After an alcoholic binge, chomp on a bar of chocolate or drink a cup of coffee. This will help you regain your nerve impulses. Though, too much of coffee could eliminate the nutrients from the body further.
Top 4 Ways to Cure a Hangover
• Chocolate Milk
• Orange Juice
• Banana Peel
• Soothing Beverages and Electrolyte Supplements
Some say the best hangover cure is to drink water during the time you are consuming alcohol. After the night is over and you are about to turn in for the night drink a sports drink that is filled with B vitamins. Gatorade or Vitamin Water is the two best for this. Drink a pint of water with a multi vitamin or drink a sports drink before bed and this is the best hangover cure.

Leg pain And Its Remedies |
The most common cause of back leg pain is Sciatica. This is a pain which is caused by swelling of the sciatic nerve. If the pain happens suddenly and is very severe, then you should contact a doctor immediately because it can be a sign of more serious problems. The swelling in the sciatic nerve is often caused by the muscle surrounding it becoming tense and pressing on the nerve for an extended period of time. It can also be caused by a misalignment of the spine and even poor posture. Luckily, there are many ways to relieve this back leg pain, so that you can live pain free.
While restless leg syndrome was once thought to be a neurological disorder, recent studies have found that this is not the case. Some researchers now feel that restless leg syndrome could in fact be linked to a deficiency of iron in the body, and studies into the effectiveness of iron supplementation are currently underway.
There are some common factors that increase the chance of having leg muscle spasms, they include:
• Muscle tiredness, muscles that have been overworked
• Heavy, strenuous, exercising
• Being dehydrated, not drinking enough water
• Having a high body weight, but not necessarily being obese
• Electrolyte imbalances
• Medications you are taking, prescribed or otherwise
• Being pregnant
• A magnesium deficiency
There are some people who are more likely to have leg cramps:
• Athletes or triathletes because of their extreme muscle use
• Sportsmen such as hunters, who have high exertion during their activity
• If you are pregnant, your chances increase
• The elderly
• Those who are overweight
• Those who are ill
A natural remedy is a natural substance or herb that is prepared, processed, or formulated for its medicinal properties using only natural substances. In contrast, most Western health systems are based on synthetically produced medicines.
Treatment
Exercise, including walking, cycling, and swimming, will improve circulation. Self-massage may help to discourage attacks.
Diet and Nutrition
Increase your intake of iron-rich foods, including dried fruits, leafy green vegetables, poultry, fish, parsley, apricots, pumpkin seeds, and red meats. There is some evidence that vitamin E has a therapeutic effect, and foods rich in this vitamin include vegetable oils, seeds, nuts, and wheat germ.
Consult a qualified practitioner/therapist for:
Acupuncture Treatment will be aimed at all points of the leg, and at energy balance.
Herbal Medicine All treatment is individually tailored, and will be constitutional but one of the following herbs, taken as teas, may be suggested: valerian, verbena, ginger, oats, limeflower, and horse chestnut.
Two things you can do to prevent painful leg muscle cramping is to drink enough water and to follow a proper and balanced diet. You must stay hydrated and you must provide your body with essential vitamins, nutrients, minerals, and electrolytes if you want to avoid having leg cramps. Basically, drinking enough water and eating properly are the two major things you can do for yourself to prevent leg cramps.

Diaper Rash And Its Remedies |
Diaper Rash or Diaper Dermatitis is a red rash that appears on the buttocks and groin area of the baby. The rash is inflamed and may have seeping eruptions if severe. It is found in children under age 2 years, and most commonly between ages 9-12 months. It causes a lot of discomfort to the baby, especially when the diapers are soiled or wet, and also when the area is cleaned during a diaper change.
It is very important to change the diaper as soon as it becomes soiled or wet, and to wash the area thoroughly and to dry it very well with each diaper change. Gently pat the area dry, or use a hair dryer to prevent further irritation to the area. In fact, it is a good idea to leave the diaper off completely and let your baby air dry for a short time spans each day, more often if the rash is severe.
There are a few concoctions that can help cure a bad case of diaper rash.
The first is Maalox – yes Maalox. Put some liquid Maalox on a cotton ball and apply to baby’s sore bottom. Let it dry a bit before diapering. For obvious reasons, don’t buy the mint flavor, and don’t use this bottle of Maalox for anything but treating diaper rash.
A second helpful treatment for diaper rash is an oatmeal bath. There are some good oatmeal bath products on the market, even some designed especially for baby. These work wonders on diaper rash. Usually one or two baths is all it takes.
Finally, I had great luck when I mixed diaper rash ointment with a little bit of hydrocortisone cream. About 3 parts diaper rash ointment to one part hydrocortisone. One caution here- check with your doctor before you try this one, since hydrocortisone cream is normally not recommended for use on children under the age of two years.
If these remedies don’t work, check with your pediatrician.
You can make your own natural baby powder. A recipe I have found helpful is to put ½ cup of cornstarch in a baggy, and then add around 20 drops of therapeutic grade lavender essential oil (Lavendula agustafolia) evenly throughout the cornstarch (to prevent clumping). Then close the baggy and use your fingers to disperse the oil throughout the cornstarch. You can then use a salt shaker with large holes to dispense the powder.
Here's some remedies recommended by moms for diaper rash:
1) Mix together corn starch and Vaseline. Remember to clean your child with just warm water and not any scented soaps or cleaning body products that have alcohol or questionable ingredients.
2) Watch what your child eats. Sometimes acidic foods can cause the waste to burn the butt area. Certain juices, spices and other foods can have this reaction so try to minimize it and your baby's skin will stop breaking out in a diaper rash.
3) Use zinc oxide cream on your baby's butt under the diaper and also be sure to give him some time without anything on him.

Caffeine And Its Effects |
People love coffee because of its stimulating effects that keeps the going through the day. Coffee is a pleasurable and an addicting beverage, mainly because of the caffeine that it contains. That is how powerful caffeine is. It can keep a person awake and keep the brain working. Aside from that, caffeine can also provide energy. Thus, caffeine really has a lot of effects in the body.
Caffeine is, along with nicotine and alcohol, one of the most widely used mood-affecting drugs in the world. It produces a response similar to the stress response in our bodies, but affects each person differently. For instance, it may cause some people to stay awake, but help induce sleep in others...very strange, I know! Caffeine is very addictive! It is a central nervous system stimulant which temporarily keeps us more awake and alert. It acts as a diuretic which means that it draws water from the body, so you may feel the need to go to the loo more often.
Caffeine content:
• 1 cup of Robusta (coffee 10g, 7 ml water): 200 to 250 mg
• 1 cup of Arabica (coffee 10g, 7 ml water): 80 to 100 mg
• 1 cup of instant coffee (15 ml): 50 to 80 mg
• 1 cup of decaffeinated coffee (15 ml): less than 10 mg
• 1 dessert with coffee (cream, etc): approximately 20 mg
Some of the more common caffeine side effects are:
* increased heart rate
* feeling of being jittery and nervous
* headache
* difficulty sleeping
* increased blood pressure
* difficulty concentrating
* more frequent urination
It is hard to determine the exact effect that caffeine has on your body because everyone is different. The factors involved include the size of the body, the gender and the age, whether or not you smoke and whether or not you are pregnant. Caffeine is used in prescription medication, such as painkillers, so that it will increase the ability of the medication to work. However, it also interacts with some medications causing adverse side effects.
Caffeine Effects In Your Body
Depending on your body size, caffeine effects vary. It takes approximately an hour or less for caffeine to take effect in the body. The caffeine effect will wear off in three to four hours. It has been linked to weight loss, hence the presence in diet pills.
If you have a tolerance with caffeine and you decided to stop drinking it; you would have withdrawals symptoms because it is a stimulant. Tolerance can be acquired very easily. When you don't get your daily cup of coffee you may start to feel symptoms that are associated with withdrawal. When I don't get my coffee, I get a "caffeine" headache from the lack of caffeine anyway.
Caffeine has also been linked to miscarriage in pregnant women. Women who ingest caffeine in the first trimester of pregnancy run a higher risk of miscarriage. Women who are pregnant should be extremely conscience of the possible risk of a spontaneous abortion.

Acupressure And Its Benefits |
Acupressure is a holistic system that builds on what the body is already doing right. In this way, the use of acupressure can be remarkably beneficial during labor. Acupressure can be very helpful in descending your baby, dilating your cervix, and making the contractions more frequent and successful. Acupressure shortens the delivery time by helping your body to use its remarkable underlying capabilities better, thus reducing the risk that your baby gets distressed or suffers, in any other way, from a prolonged labor.
When suffering from the disorder, the pain relief gout remedies can offer can become one of the most important goals in your life. Though exercise is considered to be a great preventative for gout, it is neither a comfortable nor a practical method for relieving the discomfort that is felt at the time of an attack. Many people are lead to believe, therefore, that medications are their only options in this case.
Acupressure has been shown to help with the following conditions:
• Addictions-drug, alcohol, food, sex, etc.
• Arthritis
• Asthma
• Body and back pain
• Circulatory problems
• Depression, anxiety and other emotional and mental problems
• Fibromyalgia
• Infertility
• Migraines
• Sciatica
• Skin problems, and more.
Here are three examples conclusions:
• The reduction of frequency and severity of hot flushes is as high as with HRT.
• Anxiety level decreases 40% as soon as 10 minutes after applying acupressure on the appropriate points.
• The effective rate for insomnia is 91%, compared to 75% for benzodiazepines.
Another great way to use acupressure during perimenopause and menopause is to fight fatigue. Firstly, acupressure helps regulate sleep patterns and quality. Secondly, there are 6 acupoints on the body called the Tonic Points. They stimulate our mental and physical energies. Knowing how to locate and apply pressure on these points is an easy way to feel energetic every day!
Headache Pain Remedies - Acupressure
1. Once you locate a point with your fingers or thumbs, press it until you feel no more than a comfortable pain. Hold the pressure while you rub the point for 1-2 minutes in very small circular movements, then gently release the pressure. Do this 2-3 times a day as a preventative and whenever you have a headache or feel one developing.
2. If a point is very sensitive, this indicates an underlying imbalance or problem and pressing it is a good thing. Simply release the pressure slightly and in time it will become less painful.
3. Acupressure points adapt to stimulation so as a general guide don't press the same point for more than 7 consecutive days. After seven days, stop for 3-4 days then continue.
Acupressure is easy to master without previous experience. Most importantly, it has no side effects. Thus, acupressure is strongly recommendable than medical induction, or the many other “at-home” remedies, which could be dominated with side effects.
Because of the potential for inducing labor, it is important that you know a thing or two about what you are doing. Do not attempt certain acupressure techniques until after your due date, so as not to trigger labor prematurely.
