Hey there!... Not sure what to share here that hasn't already been shared, but if I had to sum up who I am I'd have to say I'm a pretty simple guy who is very young at heart. I like to play and joke around and keep things pretty lighthearted. I love my God and my family and feel doubly blessed to have been called to this music ministry. My faith, my marriage, my son and my music are my life's work and I cherish them all.
Blessed to be raised in a family of instrumentalists and singers, Glenn
has spent his whole life surrounded by music. Much of his childhood was spent with four generations gathered around the family piano or
Grandpa’s autoharp building skills and nurturing a deep love for many styles of music.
Born in Hawaii and growing up in California and Texas, it’s hard to tell where he’s from by his lack of accent. But it’s easy to see that he has a heart the size of the state he calls home when it comes to his passion for ministering through his music.
In 1990 Glenn graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. Many years of acting and singing in community and school theatre prepared Glenn for the toughest audience he would ever face – kids. Using his love for lock-ins and his passion for spreading the gospel, Glenn spent 20 years leading church youth and music ministries in and around San Antonio. He has been especially privileged to work with organizations such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), YoungLife, and others by bringing a message of hope to schools, churches and other community venues. Now, in his second year as a touring artist, Glenn is honored to be an Artist Affiliate with Compassion International, is a regular on the local Praise the Lord program with TBN, and is a contracted artist with McLaughlin Music Group, International (MMGI) for artist development. His recent awards include 2005 Grand Prize winner at Write About Jesus and 2005 Gospel Music Association Finalist.
Well respected in the local area as a worship leader, Glenn serves many congregations and has established himself as a local favorite through frequent appearances at Christian coffee houses and community events. Glenn’s first independent project, Made to Praise, has garnered much praise from the music industry and found its way onto more than 50 radio stations nationally. Working with Bill Green at BGM Studios and Jerrad Green of Greenhouse Productions, Glenn is finding a niche for his diverse sound that ranges from soulful thought-provoking ballads to high-energy pop-rock praise. His most recent recording, Glenn Green: Live at the Espresso Spot, once again shows his love for people and the Gospel he feels called to share. A much anticipated sophomore studio project, You Know Me, is scheduled for a Spring/Summer 2006 release and reflects a new maturity in his lyric and melody writing. Glenn has been dubbed by many as a “real worshipper” following God’s call to lead other’s to Christ through his gift. Those who know him or experience his music in worship and concerts know his heart, “I am a blessed man to have been given the honor of this ministry and am reminded constantly through my travels that we are created for one purpose – we are made to praise!” Glenn continues to tour the United States playing for churches, coffee houses, retreats, schools, festivals, youth events, and more.
Over three decades of music have influenced Glenn’s talent, ranging from the smooth sounds of the 70’s from greats like James Taylor, John Denver, Dan Fogelberg, and the Eagles to the 80’s rock of Kansas, U2 and Journey, to the eclectic 90’s with Celine Dion, Collin Raye, and Sting. Recent inspirations include Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, David Crowder, Nicole Nordeman, Chris Tomlin and many others.
Glenn lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife, Sharon, and son Tyler. They enjoy singing together, picnics on the living room floor and lots of joy and laughter.
