Video Details
At art college I was trained to draw what I see physically, so when the logo for my online Christian art gallery says Im intimate with imagination www.douglasrickard.com - it means I modify whats already there through either emphasizing the light source and shadow or exaggerating certain colors for example. Thats because Noah Webster actually defines imagination as a power of modifying our conceptions, by combining the parts of different ones so as to form new wholes of our own creation. As of now, I havent drawn subjects like angels in my artwork because I havent seen an angel with my physical eyes yet, and thats not something Im necessarily endeavoring for, but Ive been learning why as humans we dont usually get to see angels. Putting it really simply for people like myself, its all to do with the principle that when things move too fast, we cant see them anymore.
