Hello! I'm Tammy from outside the Radford VA area. I love to play the piano. Until recently, I played backup keys in a modern worship band at a Pentecostal church in Pulaski VA. I was in the band from Oct 2006 to March 9, 2008. I loved being in the band, but my fiancee and I wasn't growing there. The church had the best praise and worship but we wasn't getting the Word that we needed. Now, we are starting to attend another church (which we visited several times 2 yrs ago and almost went to) in Christiansburg that is an AWESOME church, which is a PH Church. It's the fastest growing church in our area and the people in that church are the friendliest and most loving church people we've ever seen. The church is over 50 yrs old but when the Pastor came to it about 7-8 yrs ago, it was only a handful of people (I heard it was down to 6-10). It avg. around 100 when we visited a couple of yrs ago, but now the attendance is 2-3 times that. They've had as many as 310 on one Sun. Easter, they started a 2nd am service and they've only been in their new sanctuary less than 2 yrs. A couple of yrs ago, their worship was good and contemporary, but people didn't really get into much and there wasn't much of a flow between songs. Now, they have a new worship leader (guitarist) and they have just as AWESOME as a band as the one I was formerly in. The church has a keyboard but they don't have a keyboard player anymore, except for the worshp leader sometimes during the offering or altar time, but he usually stays on the guitar. Right now, I'm glad to be taking a break from playing in a band now and enjoying the worship for a change, and to get spiritually recharged and revived. I love to dance, clap my hands, close my eyes, and raise my hands in a live worship service, but don't get to as a musician in a band.
I'm also one of the most active and popular members of the Hear And Play Zone free online musician community (my absolute favorite site on the whole web!!!!), where I have over 3,000 buddies and help other musicians and help moderate the forums. Check out my new website, where I plan to give free lessons (ie midi files of preacher chords, talk music/worship progressions) and some great tips, tricks, and other helpful resources for pianists, keyboard players and other musicians and post links to other great resourceful sites for musicians (if I can stay away from the ADDICTIVE zone site long enough. lol!
