Influences
Brian? Paul? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Hard to say. For me (Paul David)I would have to say David Ruis in the worship realm has had a huge impact. David as well as Delirious was a validation for how I felt like God was shifting me spiritually and musically even though my pastor was not on board with me at the time in the those early stages.

i don't know how else to put this so i just decided to paste in an email i sent to friends and family last week. i waited til now because this past tuesday i spent the day at the hospital in boston for a final round of testing and scans to be sure that the findings were accurate. so...read on:
its late and i'm tired, so i will try to keep this brief but...its worth sharing!
if some of you have missed the updates i will give you a quick rundown.
end of april deb and i drove to NC for vacation where i became ill and was hospitalised for a week. i was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and in the process of that they found a tumor on my pancreas. i got strong enough to come home and have pursued both conditions medically.
since this began, i've had 4 various MRI and CT scans at 2 hospitals reviewed by 7 doctors that all unanimously identified a neuro-endocrine tumor on my pancreas. this culminated in a visit to a doctor up at brigham and womens hospital/dana farber cancer institute who concurred with the previous diagnoses and determined that he needed to remove my spleen and part of my pancreas to treat this issue.
one report on one of the scans recommended a specific nuclear medicine scan (my wife read the report while the doctor had stepped of the examine room...this was a couple of weeks ago) to bring more clarity to the situation. at my wife's urging, the doctor in boston ordered the scan.
today we went back to boston to do the preop consult with the surgeon as well as read the results of the scan...and then do the full preop evaluation as the surgery was already scheduled for the 22nd. the short story is...the doctor walked in looking rather perplexed. he said, "well, the nuclear med scan is showing something different than what we saw before. i need to take this downstairs and compare this with the other films from the other scans. do you have a few minutes to wait?" a few minutes turned into TWO HOURS!!
finally the nurse came out and said that she was going to go down and find out whats going on. 20-25 minutes later she came back and called us into the examine room. she told us the doctor had called in several specialists there from Brigham and Womens Hospital/Dana Farber Cancer Institue (which is where we were) to review my case and they had been looking at the case for the last two hours or so. based on the nuclear medicine scan, they have unamimously determined that there is no tumor. and no need for surgery!! there does seem to be an accessory to the spleen which is nothing bad. but there is no tumor showing up on the tail of the pancreas! they are scheduling one more high detail scan which will determine if there are any tumor or cancer cells at all in that region of my body, but they are as close to 100% certain as they can be that there is nothing in there at this point that requires any treatment whatsoever!!
this is even hard for me to wrap my brain around. i confess, i had somewhat given up and was preparing myself emotionally for this surgery and the recovery. but God is GOOD!! and i am free from this now. now on to the colitis! COME LORD JESUS!!
thank you all so much for your prayers and support. you are all apart of what the Lord is doing in our lives and we thank you!

even as i read this again i think...had God not touched this situation, i would be in the hospital NOW and would have ALREADY undergone this surgery to remove my spleen and part of my pancreas. BUT....GOD!!!!! so to all our myspace friends as well, i thank YOU for your support, your prayers, your notes...you have made me smile so much over the last couple of months. and the KINGDOM has prevailed!!
