One SONG can spark a moment
One FLOWER can wake the dream
One TREE can start a forest
One BIRD can herald spring
One SMILE begins a friendship
One HANDCLASP lifts a soul
One STAR can guide a ship at sea
One WORD can frame the goal
One VOTE can change a nation
One SUNBEAM lights a room
One CANDLE wipes out darkness
One LAUGH will conquer gloom
One STEP must start each journey
One WORD must start a prayer
One HOPE will raise our spirits
One TOUCH can show you care
One VOICE can speak with wisdom
One HEART can know what is true
One LIFE can make a difference.
'Twas the night Jesus came and all through the house
Not a person was praying, not one in the house.
The Bibles were left on the shelf without care,
For no one thought that Jesus would come there.
The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And mom in her rocker with baby in her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
When out of the east there rose such a clatter, I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters and lifted the sash!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here!
The light of His face made me cover my head--
It was Jesus returning, just as He said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said, "It's not here" my head hung in shame.
The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound
While all the rest were left standing around.
I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I'd known that this was the night.
In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is now drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all.
The very intensity with which we pray & really mean it or desire it is reflected in the answer! The recipients of our prayers are not going to receive any more than we send. We have to visualize the people or situations we're praying for & pray with that thought on our heart, asking the Lord specifically for what we want Him to do.--And then our prayer will reflect or be answered with the same intensity as it originated
Your hand will guide (lead) me and Your right hand will hold me!
- Life is not always easy. - Things don't always turn out as we had hoped. - But God has a way of working things out. - God's hand is there for you!
- Reach out and take hold of His hand!
Father in heaven, thank You for leading me to my place of blessing. I trust that You are faithful and believe that You have a good plan for my life. Help me to always hear Your voice so I can follow You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Big or small, no matter what the problem, the answer is to let My light in. The secret to overcoming is My Word. Whatever the shortcoming--be it excesses, impatience, laziness, unfaithfulness, forgetfulness, worldliness, pride, comparing with others, jealousy, doubts--whatever the fault, whatever the weakness, whatever the blunder, the secret to overcoming is My Word. The secret to lasting victory is My Word
“God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters.”
“God usually answers our prayers so much more according to the measure of His own magnificence, than of our asking, that we do not recognize His benefits to be those for which we sought Him.”
You are my very life, my breath, the joy of my heart. You put the twinkle in my eye, the sparkle in my smile, a song on my lips as I sing to You. I sing because You make me happy, I sing because I'm free! I sing to You, my King and Lord. All glory and praise be Yours.
I run to You. I cling to You. You are my greatest desire.
